‘Speaking truth’
I’M NOT jealous of Usain Bolt.
Track and field legend Carl Lewis made the declaration Wednesday during the break of his one-day jump and sprint clinic for local athletes at the National Stadium.
He was responding to a question about inferences he made about the Jamaica anti-doping programme after Bolt’s success at the London Olympics in 2012 when he became the first athlete to repeat as double sprint champion.
“It is so easy to say I’m jealous but I’m not jealous of him or anyone else. I want America to win because I’m an American but the reality is that I’m one of the few that has always spoken the truth. What I say people want to say but they’re afraid to say it but I’m not afraid,” told WEEKENDSPORT.
