The 10 ready to go back

ALL OF THE TEN EMPLOYEES  60 years or over who were forcibly retired by the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC) four weeks ago are willing to return to the organisation.

National Union of Public Workers president Akanni McDowall told  the DAILY NATION yesterday, following a meeting with the group at the union’s Dalkeith, St Michael headquarters, that “they had given a resounding yes” to being reinstated. He maintained the offer was made to the union by the BIDC during a meeting with the subcommittee of the Social Partnership on Tuesday.

There were conflicting reports yesterday that some of the workers were adamant they did not want to return to the corporation, with some reportedly being satisfied with the separation packages they had received.
