Mum awakes and finds baby dead in bed

INSTEAD OF HAVING baby Kashia wake her as usual at 4 a.m. for her feeding, Katrina Douglas awoke yesterday just after 6 a.m.  to the horror of finding the four-month-old still and unresponsive.

“She would usually wake me up, but this morning I did not feel her moving, so I went to take her up, but she was cold. So I shake her but she would not respond. Then I realise that she was not waking up.”

Douglas, who has four other children, said she and Kashia were the only two people sharing the bed at their Dash Valley, St George home.
