Teen building future on love for woodwork

AT 17 years old, Tristan Forde knows what he wants out of life and he is going after it.

Actually, he knew from the age of 11 that he wanted to be a civil engineer and throughout his years at Harrison College, his love for and ability in technical drawing has cemented his decision to pursue that career.

Like hundreds of fifth form students, the Black Rock, St Michael resident is waiting his CXC CSEC results in technical drawing, Spanish, geography, literature, physics, chemistry and woodwork.

Yes, he did woodwork at Harrison College and is the first student at the Crumpton Street, City school to have been entered by the school to do it at CXC level.
