QUARTER-MILER SADA WILLIAMS proved she is among the best in the hemisphere when she raced to a silver medal in the Pan American Junior Championships yesterday in Edmonton, Canada.
Running out of lane six, Williams finished second in 52.75 seconds over 400 metres, to win Barbados’ first medal at the meet.
The gold medal went to Canadian Kendra Clarke in 52.55 seconds and American Kendall Ellis took bronze in 52.81.
Tristan Evelyn, the other Barbadian in action yesterday, finished sixth in the 100 metres in 11.65 seconds.
Trinidadian Khalifa St Fort, the World Youth silver medallist, won gold in 11.31 seconds and the American pair of Aleia Hobbs and Teahna Daniels were second and third in 11.50 and 11.54 seconds, respectively. (SAT)
