‘Losing the reason’ for the season

GOD IS GREATER than any calypsonian, entertainer or fete, a preacher said yesterday.

In a fiery presentation, senior pastor and founder of Restoration Ministries Rev. David Durant said the Crop Over season had been hijacked.

“When those former soca ‘kings’ and reigning ‘monarchs’ come on stage, you hear a thunderous noise but God is greater than Gabby, Edwin Yearwood, Adrian Clarke or TC.

“This season was meant to be one of thanksgiving to God but somehow the season is under siege and has been kidnapped and is going in a different direction where ‘wuk-up’ is the culture but that is not what God wants,” he said. (CA)
