Second medal for Sada Williams

SADA WILLIAMS won her second medal at the Pan American Junior Championships yesterday in Edmonton, Canada.

With a time of 23.49 seconds, Williams took the bronze medal in the women’s 200 metres. American Deanna Hill won the gold in 23.18 seconds and Brazil’s Vitoria Cristina Rosa was second with 23.42.

Fellow Barbadian Tristan Evelyn was fourth in 23.73 seconds.

Noah Lyles of the United States won the boys’ event in 20.27 seconds.

Rivaldo Leacock finished sixth in the finals of the 400m hurdles in 52.25 seconds, but Stephen Griffith (53.55) did not make it out of the preliminaries.

American Norman Grimes won in 50.10 seconds and compatriot Kenny Selmon took the silver in 50.29. Jamaica’s Marvin Williams was third in 50.44. (SAT)
