BARBADOS’ BOOMING SUMMER FESTIVAL will climax today, Kadooment Day, when thousands of revellers hit the streets for the Republic Bank-sponsored trek from the National Stadium to Spring Garden Highway.
Crop Over 2015 hit a crescendo with the MQI Pic-O-De-Crop Finals Saturday night with Classic winning his first crown, but even that vibe is expected to be surpassed today.
And along with the usual competition between costume designers and band leaders, the battle for the Tune Of The Crop is also expected make waves all day today, with the red-hot Peter Ram expected to go head-to-head with the general, Edwin Yearwood, and the lyrical master, Red Plastic Bag, for the coveted first prize of $7 500.
Ram, real name Peter Wiggins, has had a breakout year, winning a major title (Party Monarch) for the first time with his infectious hit All Ah We, and adding the Stag Jam Tune title on Saturday.
