SPECIAL OLYMPICS ATHLETE Nikita Maycock was all smiles when she returned home with medals from the recent Special Olympics in Los Angeles.

Maycock copped a gold, silver and bronze as part of the 17 individual medals won by Barbadian athletes. Barbados also won team medals in bocce, on the track in the relays, and in football.

The team returned home Monday night and was met at the airport by a large group of family, friends and officials of the National Sports Council and the Barbados Olympic Association. (PG)
