THE BARBADOS REVENUE Authority wishes to inform the general public that land tax bills for the financial year 2015-2016 have been issued.

These bills will bear an issue date of July 27, 2015. This means that taxpayers will benefit from a ten per cent discount if payment is made in full within 30 days of the issue date of the bill. As such, the  ten per cent discount date is August 26, 2015.

A five per cent discount is allowed for full payments made between August 27 and September 25, 2015.

The public should note that the bills have a different look to the black and white bills to which persons have become accustomed over the years but importantly, feature similar information.

The front of the bill contains the name and address of the owner; property description; amount of tax due; discount dates and contact and mailing information, whereas the back of the bill contains the payment information and relevant excerpts from the Land Tax Act Cap 78A.

Payments may be made at the main office on the ground floor of the Treasury Building, Bridge Street, Bridgetown or at the other locations at Weymouth Corporate Centre, Roebuck Street, St Michael; Warrens Tower II, Warrens, St Michael; Southern Plaza, Oistins, Christ Church or the newly renovated office at the Holetown Complex. Cashier hours for the Treasury Building are Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. while the other locations are 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Taxpayers are urged to contact the Authority in the event that they have not received their bills by August 12, 2015. It is possible that their current addresses may differ from those originally supplied to the Authority. (PR)
