TORONTO, Canada – Barbadian Patrick Husbands produced a strong stretch drive with favourite Season Ticket to win the CAN$250 000 Wonder Where Stakes – the third leg of Canada’s Triple Tiara – and post his second triple in as many days at Woodbine racetrack on Sunday.
Going a mile and a quarter, the seven-time champion patiently bided his time down the backstretch aboard the 9-5 favourite before rallying at the top of the stretch, reeling in the leaders, and reaching the wire 1-1/2 lengths clear in a time of two minutes, 3.21 seconds.
The added-money win was his fifth of the season and third in nine days and reflected his surge in form after a slow start to the season.
