EXPECT THE UPSURGE in gun violence to get worse before it gets better.

That’s the sentiment expressed by some folks from the Valery, Brittons Hill, St Michael area. They said a shortage of marijuana on the streets was a serious contributing factor.

A 27-year-old woman who requested anonymity said since marijuana was now “scarce on the streets”, things will get worse because people are hungry and have families to feed – and marijuana helps to provide.

She said with Christmas approaching, she thinks there will be more gun violence as people will be driven to rob and kill to buy gifts and food.

She said order is another factor that causes the violence. She went on to pose a scenario.
