Pleas falling on deaf ears

MANY RESIDENTS of St Joseph believe they are a forgotten people and want answers from the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) on what is causing the frequent water outages.

Frustrated residents say they are being ignored by the BWA and are pleading for the authorities to visit Lammings, Parks Hill, Airy Hill and other districts to hear first-hand about the resulting problems.

When the WEEKEND NATION visited Lammings, villagers said they believed that their complaints often fell on “deaf ears”. While some of them have come to terms with turning on their pipes and discovering that there is no water, others are frustrated about the situation which has plagued them for years and are asking that it be dealt with immediately by the BWA.
