5 picked for NBA camp

MAKAARI JONES is taking his talents abroad again.

One of Barbados’ best young talents will be heading to Trinidad later this month after Jones and four other top guards were handpicked to be a part of a special NBA Digicel Jumpstart Basketball Elite Camp.

The 14-year-old junior national and fellow playmakers Joshua Lowe, Zachary Moore, Nicholas Hoyte and Jomon Philip were selected by NBA associate director for international operations, Chris Clunie and director of basketball operations at the University of Louisville women’s programme, Becky Bonner following yesterday’s conclusion of a three-day clinic at the Garfield Sobers Complex.

“It’s another opportunity for me to see basketball around the Caribbean and to show off my skill and abilities,” said Jones of the upcoming trip.
