IN AN OVERWHELMING VOTE of confidence, Barbadian Jason Holder was yesterday named as the West Indies’ youngest Test cricket captain.
After playing a mere eight Tests, the 23-year-old Holder takes over the leadership of the regional side from wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin for next month’s two-Test series in Sri Lanka.
In endorsing the appointment of Holder, who is also the One-Day skipper, chairman of the West Indies selectors Clive Lloyd said it is “the right time for a change”. (EZS)
