Adrian Elcock and his wife Ann threw open the doors of their Warrens, St Michael home to host a welcome reception for Optimists from across the Caribbean, here  for a convention of Optimist International’s Caribbean District.

The Harrison College Ensemble played above the din of Caribbean accents on a lawn bathed in moonlight, the delicious aroma of chef Craig Greenidge’s offerings wafting through the air.

On a serious note, guest of honour Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy had a word of advice to the Optimists based on tenets of their creed which he recited to the amusement of guests.

“In these times when young people may be a little unsettled or confused, there is so much they can get from this organisation” Sealy said.

It was a night when Elcock was showered with congratulations on his recent election as Optimist International director designate for 2015-2018.
