Island has 31 new JPs
THIRTY-ONE Barbadians – 19 men and 12 women – were made Justices of the Peace (JPs) at Government House yesterday.
Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave told the new JPs their office was one where the highest integrity was expected, and he advised them not to engage in anything unlawful or underhanded.
Salvation Army public relations officer, Major Denzil Walcott, one of the new JPs, told the DAILY NATION the Army recommended him and he considered it an honour and privilege.
Managing director of Hibiscus Health Caribbean Marianne Burnham was also one of the appointees.
