AN EXPANDED airport that enhances the passenger experience.

That is the long-term plan for the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA), according to chief executive officer of GAIA Inc., David Barrow.

Giving details of future enhancement of Barbados’ sole airport to the Weekend Nation, Barrow said most of the plans consisted of pavement works including resurfacing the runway and work on the parking aprons with the possible expansion of the existing 22 parking positions.

The next stage of the development will be funded by China as part of a package of projects designated by the Barbados Government.
