REIGNING Northlands Park champion jockey Rico Walcott enjoyed mixed returns on Saturday’s race card in Alberta, Canada.

Walcott won two of the day’s eight stakes races on the programme and was second on another five occasions including four stakes races.

He was made to wait until race number seven, the Sturgeon Stakes for two-year-old fillies for his first success where he easily won the six and one half event aboard Onestaratatime.

He later closed out the card, winning the 11th race going six and one half furlongs in 1:20.25 minutes with Victory Day as the pair, who went off at 9/5 took the 36th running of the Alberta Premier’s Futurity Stakes.
