Richards hands Simmons double sow

ROAD TENNIS fans found out on Sunday night that the feared Andy “Black Dog” Richards has a terrifying bark and an even more vicious bite. Just ask “Sauna Master” Anthony “Baku” Simmons.

With the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union Limited Monarchs of the Court serving off at the Wildey Sports Club on Sunday night, a loud roar erupted when Richards was announced to come to court after missing from action for over 10 years.

The roar became louder as the heavyset former national king belied his size with the nimble movement of a seasoned dancer as he repeatedly waltzed into the court to blast or caress the ball past a bemused and bewildered Simmons.

With the fans screaming for a double sow, Richards, without breaking a sweat, complied by destroying the affable Simmons 21-9, 21-6.
