Senator Ince wants even playing field

BARBADOS is willing to continue pursuing its international development goals, but it cannot do so on the existing “uneven playing field”.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Jepter Ince on Wednesday communicated Government’s desire for “a more transparent architecture that is supportive of development objectives”.

He was speaking at the Warrens Office Complex during a workshop on the United Nations Caribbean Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework 2017-2021.

“The Government of Barbados is fully cognisant of the responsibility which developing countries bear towards achieving their development goals. However, the reality is that in seeking to meet these goals, they do so on an uneven playing field,” Ince said.
