A NEW COACHING CONCEPT is on the cards for national athletics.
First vice-president of the Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) Noel Lynch told Sunsport that under a mandate from the sport’s governing body, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), a new structure must be put in place in order to access what is called an administrator’s grant.
“It demands that you have a chief coach and head coaches in every area of the discipline – that is in sprints and hurdles, middle to long distance running, the jumps and so on – and you have to present that structure to the IAAF,” he said.
