THE LODGE SCHOOL is alive and well and open for business.
That pitch came from principal Vasco Dash, during his message at the Founder’s Day Service at St John’s Parish Church yesterday to mark the school’s 270th anniversary. He said the school had the facilities, the staff and the determination to provide quality education to all who entered.
Noting that it went through many achievements and disappointments during the years, Dash said the 1980s was probably the most difficult for the school, and it was during that time that the phrase “Fighting Back” was born.
He paid special tribute to all the principals and teachers who “have lived, loved and breathed that motto (They Can Because They Think They Can) throughout the 270-year life of this institution”.
