Govt ‘not targeting’ Customs officials

NONSENSE!

That was the reaction of Speaker of the House of Assembly Michael Carrington to suggestions in some quarters that Customs officers were being targeted by Government.

Rather, he contended, the move to place the officers under the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) was a policy decision, and had impacted other revenue collection agencies.

The St Michael West representative told a Democratic Labour Party branch meeting at his constituency office Sunday night that he did not understand the confusion over the move and he was now waiting to see how quickly it could be resolved so the country could move forward.
