CUBAN AMBASSADOR to Barbados Francisco Fernandez Peña is asking tough questions on the 39th anniversary of the Cubana tragedy.
During his closing remarks yesterday at the annual wreath laying/remembrance ceremony at the monument at Payne’s Bay, St James, Peña demanded to know why Luis Posada Carriles, the man he said publicly admitted being responsible for the deaths of the 73 people on the doomed plane, was still walking free.
“[He is] the man behind thousands of killing, tortures and disappearances in Latin America and the Caribbean; the man who entered illegally into US territory and [yet] is freely walking down the streets of Miami.
“Why is Venezuela still expecting the US (United States) government’s response for an extradition request, made under the provisions of a bilateral agreement, an international convention and a UN (United Nations) resolution? …
