Youth SOS

Lawless youths are drawing the attention of authorities, the church and social groups. Yesterday from three different quarters a plea went out to consider the plight of young people who, within recent times, have been killed in brutal circumstances by other youth, have been recorded in vicious fights and accused of serious crimes.

The Kiwanis Club of Bridgetown said it was concerned about rising crime among youth, Magistrate Graveney Bannister pleaded for help from social groups to turn around the situation and Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite appealed for divine intervention.

Rather than giving a ministerial statement at the launch of Prison Service Week, Brathwaite asked the pastors at the Messiah Wesleyan Holiness Church and all churches, by extension, to pray for the nation.
