CRIME AND ITS EFFECTS on Community-Based Tourism will be the topic of discussion at a community forum hosted by the St Philip Parish Independence Committee today.

The forum, which takes place at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St Philip, from 7 p.m., will examine the threat of crime to Barbados’ number one money earner, tourism.

It will also focus on the current crime situation and explore solutions to protect both Barbadians and visitors.

The panellists will be Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs, Adriel Brathwaite; Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Tourism Product Authority, Dr Kerry Hall; Marketing and Operations Manager at Weekes Security Peter Morgan and Constable Roy Thompson of the Royal Barbados Police Force.

Members of the public are invited to attend this event, which is one of several being held under the theme: Taste, Tour, Treasure – Come a Visitor… Leave a Philippine. (BGIS)
