Time to reassess local ‘world-class’ products

IT’S TIME TO stop labelling local products as “world class” in the name of patriotism when they are just average.

This is the opinion of executive director of the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries, Lisa Cummins, who said average would no longer do now that the island was competing against the rest of the world.

Cummins was delivering the feature address at the 17th annual conference of the Human Resource Management Association of Barbados Inc. (HRMAB) at the Radisson Aquatica yesterday.

Speaking on the first day of the two-day conference, Cummins said Barbados was in a period of change which was “in many ways unprecedented”.
