THE Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Elite Division trophy has found its way back to the 3Ws Oval at Cave Hill.

Sagicor UWI captured this year’s title yesterday with an easy nine-wicket win over Sierka Rentals Maple on the final day of the season.  The champions ended on 138 points, 15 more than second-placed St Catherine.

The win was UWI’s sixth of the season. Their only defeat came at the hands of St Catherine in the opening round at home.

It was their fifth championship success in the last seven seasons. They won in 2009, 2010, 2011 and  2012 with all their titles under the promotion/demotion system which came into effect in 2009. UWI entered the top league back in 2006.
