Garden of food delights

OISTINS WAS BUSTLING with activity on Thursday night.

Hundreds of locals and visitors packed in front of the stage in Oistins Bay Garden for the launch of the 2015 Barbados Food Wine and Rum Festival.

The deejay music and live performances from the Pompesetteers Tuk Band, the “Bajan Michael Jackson”, Charles Reid, iWeb, Stiffy and 2014 Sweet Soca champ Biggie Irie were major attractions, but most of them waited eagerly to see the local and internal chefs and mixologists in action and, of course, sample the food and beverages.

International chef Marcus Samuelsson is playing a major role in the festival once again, and he had an easy rapport with the other chefs and members of the audience during his cooking demonstration and other food segments of the evening.
