Walking for the cause of disabled people
THE CHALLENOR CREATIVE Arts and Training Centre held its first walk in The City this morning to highlight International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The walk which began at the Parliament Building ended about 500 metres away at Independence Square.
Social worker at the Challenor School Joycelyn Brathwaite-Haynes organised the walk in an effort to sensitise the Barbadian public to the disabled community.
Also present at the march were MP for St James North and director of the Barbados Council for the Disabled Edmund Hinkson and Banks Calendar Girl finalist Rashanna Holder who has adopted the centre for the duration of the competition. (RA)
