Frenchman Nicolas Fernandez proved to be too good for the rest of the competition as he easily won yesterday’s Run Barbados half-marathon.

Fernandez defied early morning showers and slippery conditions to win in one hour, 15 minutes and 26 seconds. It was Fernandez’s third win of the Run Barbados Marathon Weekend as he had also easily won the Fun Mile in St Lawrence Gap on Friday night and the 10K on Saturday.

The French national hardly looked fatigued when NATIONSPORT caught up with him after yesterday’s finish. He admitted that he started off slowly but accelerated after the first ten kilometres because he felt good.

“I am satisfied with my time because it was my third race but I can do [a] better time,” said Fernandez.
