IT WAS triple delight again for undisputed cricket kings Sagicor UWI yesterday as they completed a historic clean sweep of the three major championships for the second time in four years.
Having already won the Elite and Twenty20 titles, UWI added the Sagicor General Super Cup by easily defeating first-time finalists, Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP), by 102 runs in the final at the Windward Club.
Batting first, UWI amassed an imposing 299 for six in their 50 overs. Left-handed opener Anthony Alleyne anchored the UWI’s innings with a responsible 98, hitting five fours and five sixes in his 127-ball knock.
