ST GEORGE’S – The Grenada police Friday said they had discovered the partially decomposing body of a 36-year-old university professor who had gone missing on December 5.

The police said that body was found at a location “south of the island” and that Akim Frank, who had been named as a person of interest and had surrendered to law enforcement authorities on Friday “remains in police custody assisting with their investigations”.

The authorities promise to “keep the public informed as the investigation unfolds”.

On Thursday night the police reported a breakthrough in their investigations into the disappearance of Canadian born Professor Linnea Veinotte after seizing a vehicle here.

They said the lecturer at the American owned St George’s University disappeared on December 5 after leaving her residence at Lance Aux Epines, on the outskirts of the capital. (CMC)
