All eyes on Ms Barbados
SPORTS TOURISM is expected to sail to a whole new level.
That’s because hopes are high that Ms Barbados, one of the fastest yachts in the world, will make sailors from all across the globe eager to experience Barbadian shores.
At a media briefing with Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) and Britain’s successful offshore racing crew Team Concise on the boardwalk in Bridgetown yesterday, captain Ned Collier Wakefield said Ms Barbados travelled from Lanzarote to Grenada in just six days and is ready to boost the backbone of Barbados’ economy.
“We are here to fly the flag for Barbados and promote sailing in Barbados as well as to try bringing as many other high-profile boats to the island as we can,” said Wakefield. (RG)
