THE LATEST serve from the grandfather of road tennis Deighton “Pa” Roach, still hasn’t been returned as yet.

He is so annoyed with the condition of the Deighton “Pa” Roach Road Tennis Facility which bears his name, that he has written the National Sports Council (NSC) expressing concern about the deteriorating state of the seats, the poor lighting and cost incurred by road tennis players for using the floodlights at the Bush Hall, St Michael venue.

“We have a number of concerns that needs to be addressed to facilitate maximum use of the facility by persons within the community and its environs,” Roach wrote in his letter of September 23, a copy of which was placed on the notice board inside the Bush Hall Community Centre, which is situated on the compound.

He said the Chinese and Cuban embassies in Barbados were usually willing to support sporting infrastructure in Barbados, and called for a roof to be erected at the facility, where there are three road tennis courts.
