IT TOOK 45 minutes and 67 balls on the final day for CounterPoint Wanderers to complete victory by eight wickets over the Barbados Community College (BCC) in the final to retain the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Second Division championship at the KMV Oval, Lakes, St Andrew.
Having resumed their second innings on 110 for one and requiring a further 22 runs for the come-from-behind win, the Dayrells Road club reached the winning target off the first delivery of yesterday’s 12th over for the added loss of skipper Yusuf Nagdee for 35.
Nagdee and Gary Pedro, who resumed on 28 and 42 respectively took their second wicket partnership to 71 before the captain holed out to midwicket off spinner Kieshon Rawlins six runs shy of completing the successful defence of the title Wanderers captured last year.
