Piles of disgust
RESIDENTS, complaining they have become too familiar with garbage piles in their neighbourhoods, are raising their voices again about unsightly build-ups.
Danesbury, Black Rock, Butlers Avenue, Spooners Hill and Lightfoot Lane, The City, all in St Michael, were among the places where residents raised concerns about bad disposal habits of some and non-collection of garbage by the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA).
Outside the Vegan Cottage, a cook shop along Black Rock Main Road, an unsightly pile-up greeted patrons, but staff, when approached, declined to say anything about the heap.
Several other piles were noticed along that road, the largest of which was near Nigel’s Barber Shop on the Danesbury portion of the Black Rock road. One man at the barber shop, who did not want to be identified, said the spot was a usual garbage drop-off point and always presented a problem with the stench that came from it.
