Legends take beach hockey title
EIGHT TEAMS hunted for glory in the first ever Barbados Beach Hockey Festival, but when the sand settled it was Legends who were triumphant.
Dwayne Atherley, coordinator of the event, which was held at Brandons beach last Sunday, said the tournament was a success despite challenges gaining corporate support.
“I’m satisfied because it’s a new concept to the island. It’s good that we could get it running so we would know what to do in the future,” he told MIDWEEK SPORT.
Atherley said the organisers are hoping to make the next tournament even bigger and possibly invite overseas teams.
