Policeman injured

A GUN BATTLE between men protecting their weed and drug squad officers has left one policeman injured.

Lawmen say they were fired upon just after 9 a.m. One officer reportedly received an injury to the hand and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The incident occurred at Storey Gap, Station Hill, St Michael. Police cordoned off the area and conducted checks in the Waterford and Belle areas. Members of the mounted branch and soldiers were also on the scene. (BN)
