AN ELDERLY WOMAN and her greatgrandson were pulled from their burning home in 2nd Avenue, Peterkin Land, Bank Hall, St Michael, yesterday evening.

It was the quick efforts of firefighters who responded to the fire around 4:36 p.m. that saved the lives of Lucy Alexander, 72, and five-year-old Jaden Alexander.

Residents from the 3rd Avenue, Christopher Leacock and Ann Albert, also rushed to their assistance when they realised what was happening.

“I was inside and a little boy shout ‘Ann, Ann come a fire out here’. So I got up to put on my clothes and the spirit of the Lord told me to pick up the cellphone,…” said Albert.
