BRA workers meeting with union
BARBADOS REVENUE AUTHORITY workers are currently meeting with officials of the National Union of Public Workers at the NUPW’s Dalkeith headquarters to discuss whether or not they should sign options forms that have been distributed recently.
President of the NUPW Akanni McDowall, who spoke to media before the meeting started, said they received a report around January 4th that correspondence was sent to workers asking them to indicate whether they would continue with BRA.
“We have always said that option form should not be signed unless negotiations were completed so we are here to tell them not to sign those option forms,” McDowall said.
He said there are still a number of outstanding matters related to the terms and conditions of work as well as pensions that need to be finalised. (LK)
