Scorpions sting Pride
PORT OF SPAIN – Jamaica Scorpions completed a thrilling two-wicket win over the Barbados Pride at Queen’s Park Oval to close the gap on Group A leaders Trinidad and Tobago Red Force after the third round of matches in the NAGICO Super50, yesterday.
The Red Force had to settle for two points from their abandoned match against the ICC Americas in Tobago yesterday while the Scorpions took advantage of the situation, completing a tense victory over the Pride to move into second place behind the defending champions.
Scorpions leg-spinner Damion Jacobs, who grabbed five wickets in the previous match against the ICC Americas, took three for 38 yesterday while his skipper John Campbell (two for 32) snatched two in a single over as the Pride were dismissed for an unsatisfactory 138 in 45.5 overs.
The Scorpions also had a tough time against the Bajan spinners, replying with 139 for eight off 38 overs.
