THE NEW ADMINISTRATOR of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral has been told that one of his responsibilities is to allow people to bring their gifts and talents so they can find new and creative ways to spread the love of God.
Father Charles Dominique, who succeeds Monsignor Vincent Blackett as administrator of the premier church in the diocese on Bridgetown, was officially installed during a Mass at the cathedral on Sunday night.
Before the installation rites, Bishop Jason Gordon reminded Charles that part of his mission and mandate was to bring the love of God to all of God’s people – not just the people who worshipped at the cathedral but to all those who lived in its geographical region.
“You are to go out and seek out those who are lost. You are to ensure that those who come receive care. You are to ensure they are fed and fed well from the Word of God and from the Eucharist and the sacraments, and that the whole life of the parish is organized in such a way that all God’s people receive from God what they need,” the bishop added.
