Mia: No politics

THERE WAS NOTHING political about the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) jumping into the water issue, and furthermore it will be pressing for more permanent solutions.

Opposition Leader Mia Mottley fired back yesterday at Minister of Water Resource Management Dr David Estwick following his criticism of the party’s action in response to the lack of water to some homes and businesses.

Following weeks of residents, social commentators and experts hammering the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) over dry taps and unreliable water tankers, Estwick called a Press conference in which he detailed water solutions.

But he also accused some politicians of misleading Barbadians into believing there was a “clandestine and diabolical plot”by the BWA to deny residents of St Joseph, St Andrew, St Peter, St John and St Thomas water. The BLP had canvassed the areas and held mass meetings during which residents vented.
