IT TOOK a sudden death match to separate the two, but in the end it was St John who defeated Christ Church on Wednesday night.

The win saw St John advance to the “A” class final of the National Sports Council’s Sports In The Community Road Tennis Tournament.

A small crowd braved the chilly conditions at the Netball Stadium and stayed past midnight to see St John’s Julian “Michael Jackson” White and Adrian Skeete defeat the Christ Church pair of Marston Johnson and David Arrendell in their ‘A’ class semi-final match.

Jackson had St John in the lead when he defeated Arrendell 21-15, 21-12, but Skeete could not overcome Christ Church’s Johnson in the second match, losing 21-18, 21-15.
