THREE JAMAICANS have been arrested and charged in connection with separate drug offences which allegedly occurred at the Grantley Adams International Airport last week.

They are 52-year-old Duane Lyons, Rhoan Dwayne McLeod, 45, and Milton Anthony Gordon, 49.

According to a police release, they have all been charged with possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of varying quantities of cannabis.

Lyons arrived in Barbados on January 6 and was interviewed by the Police. He was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he passed 37 packages containing cannabis, weighing 0.5 kilos.

On January 16, McLeod arrived at the Airport and he was also interviewed by Immigration and police officials. Three packages weighing one kilo were subsequently discovered.

One day later, Gordon arrived and a search of his luggage by Customs revealed three packages of cannabis in a hidden compartment of his luggage. He was referred to Police and arrested.

The total weight was 8 ½ pounds.

Lyons, McLeod and Gordon are expected to appear at the Magistrates Court on Monday. (PR/SAT)
