THE WATER PROBLEMS plaguing Barbados have compromised the learning environment in schools, and Minister of Education Ronald Jones has called for a speedy resolution to the crisis.
Jones said the closure of schools and early dismissal of children were actions he did not relish.
“You should hear my groans, and I groan because every time you miss a day, you miss a period, that is downtime,” he reported to the media yesterday during Alleyne School’s Leaders Week launch.
“We took the water supply in Barbados for granted and now we do not have a challenge, we have a crisis. (LK)
