ROAD TENNIS is headed in the right direction with the installing of a new concrete board court inside the Wildey Gymnasium.

That’s the assertion of Philip “Foff” Garner, the sport’s long-standing administrator and coordinator of the annual National Sports Council’s Inter-Parish Championships, which ended Sunday night with the finals at the indoor facility for the first time.

“This is what you call a plus for road tennis. This competition was magnificent for the last two nights as everyone can see,” Garner told MIDWEEK SPORT.

“But what this competition needs right now is some more marketing. Once you get the marketing aspect of this working, we can full up this Gymnasium here,” an upbeat Garner affirmed.
