THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH will mount a series of town hall meetings during February to invite public input into finding solutions to the problem of health care financing in Barbados.

The Ministry is urging members of the public to participate in the sessions, which open at the Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St Philip, on Tuesday, February 2, at 7 p.m.

Under the theme: Finding a Sustainable Solution to Health Care Financing, the meetings will discuss how Barbadians can continue to access affordable high quality healthcare services in the midst of rising economic costs and limited resources.

A group of experts, including representatives from the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners, The University of the West Indies’ Faculties of Medicine and Social Sciences, and the National Insurance Scheme, will act as resource persons.

Meetings continue on Tuesday, February 9, at Queen’s College, Husbands, St James; on Tuesday, February 16, at The Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St Peter; and on Monday, February 29, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St Michael, beginning at 7 each night. (BGIS)
